Over the years and across numerous campaigns we have worked with many professional athletes.
The challenge is nearly always the same. The athletes have a limited amount of time allocated to media and content creation and there are always lots of people vying for a piece of that time.
The result is that you typically end up with just 5-10 minutes of time with the athlete. Not a lot if you want to create something compelling. It creates a constant compromise between creative ambition and what you can practically do in the time you have. Not surprisingly, it’s the creative ambition that’s usually compromised.
The test illustrates how we can work with high profile sports personalities and within very short timeframes, create something that looks beautiful and delivers more developed, immersive story telling with a very high production value.
Better content from the same 5-10 minute slot which we can apply to any sport or athlete in the simple locations and time pressured environments.
What we Made
In less than 10 minutes we captured just two key shots. The intro shot of the players face at the start and the volley kick at the end.
Absolutely everything else was created in a computer environment using a CG model of the player for all the running/movement shots. The player can be replaced with any sportsman and we can tailor sequences for any sport and any player.
By seamlessly marrying real footage with CGI, we were able to create a piece with the production quality of a high budget Ad having spent less than 10 minutes with the player.
